Careers
Careers at SecureRoot Risk Advisory
SecureRoot is a cybersecurity consultancy with offices in Kanpur and Greater Noida West. The people who find the flaw explain it to the client's engineers, and the people who write the control set sit in the audit. If that is the kind of security work you want to do, this page lists what is open and takes your application.
On this page
SecureRoot Risk Advisory LLP hires security consultants, penetration testers, code reviewers and compliance specialists for client-facing work with fintech, healthcare, SaaS and e-commerce companies in India. Open roles are listed on this page with their team and location, and the application form at the foot of the page takes a resume for a listed role or for none in particular; every application is read by the hiring lead.

Open roles
Every open position is listed here with its team, location and what the work involves. When a role closes it is removed the same day.
Intern - Business Development
Business Development Greater Noida West, on-site Internship
Find the companies that will need a VAPT, a compliance programme or a DPDP Act readiness review before their auditor, regulator or biggest customer asks for one. You build the account list, write the first note, and keep the pipeline honest.
What you will do
- Build and maintain target lists of fintech, healthcare, SaaS and e-commerce companies in India, with the regulator that binds each one and the person who owns security and compliance there.
- Research an account before anyone contacts it: what it runs, what it has published about security, which certifications it claims, and what a buyer there is likely to need next.
- Draft first-contact emails and LinkedIn notes in plain language, grounded in that research, for a consultant to review before anything is sent.
- Log every conversation and date every next step in the pipeline, so the record is something the team can rely on rather than reconstruct.
- Prepare a one-page brief before each scoping call, so the consultant walks in already knowing the account.
- Track which messages get replies and which do not, and report the pattern each week with a recommendation.
What we are looking for
- A degree in progress or recently completed, in any discipline.
- Clear written English: you can explain in three sentences why a company should care about a security assessment, without a buzzword.
- Curiosity about how businesses are regulated, and the patience to read a privacy notice, an annual report or a tender to find the answer.
- Comfort with spreadsheets and a CRM, or the willingness to learn one in the first week.
- You can be at the Greater Noida West office on working days.
Useful, not required
- Any exposure to B2B sales, consulting or market research, including student projects.
- A working knowledge of what ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS or the DPDP Act are for.
- Hindi, for conversations with prospects who prefer it.
Intern - Inside Sales
Inside Sales Greater Noida West, on-site Internship
Work the inbound side: the enquiries that arrive through the website, the assessment form, the chat assistant and referrals. You qualify each one, book the scoping call with the right consultant, and follow up until there is an answer either way.
What you will do
- Answer inbound enquiries the same working day, ask the five questions that establish scope, deadline and budget, and book the scoping call with the right practice lead.
- Follow up on proposals that have gone quiet, and record what the prospect said so no consultant has to ask twice.
- Keep the lead inbox and the pipeline consistent: one record per enquiry, one owner, one dated next step.
- Send a prospect the indicative pricing page and the service pages they should read before the call, and confirm they arrived.
- Report weekly on enquiries received, calls booked, proposals outstanding and where each one stalled.
- Flag the enquiry that is really an incident, and route it to a consultant immediately rather than into the sales queue.
What we are looking for
- A degree in progress or recently completed, in any discipline.
- Spoken and written English that is clear and courteous on a first call with a CTO or a compliance head.
- Organised by habit: you notice when a follow-up date has passed before anyone else does.
- Comfort with email, a CRM and a shared calendar as everyday tools.
- You can be at the Greater Noida West office on working days.
Useful, not required
- Any customer-facing experience, including retail, support or campus roles.
- Hindi, for calls with prospects who prefer it.
- A basic understanding of what a penetration test and a compliance audit each involve.
Intern - VAPT
VAPT Greater Noida West, on-site Internship
Join the testing practice on live web, API, mobile and network engagements. You work under a senior tester, reproduce and document findings by hand, assist on retests, and learn to write a report a developer can act on without a call.
What you will do
- Run reconnaissance and scanning under supervision, and triage the output so a senior tester spends time on what matters.
- Reproduce findings by hand, capture evidence, and write each one up with impact, exact steps and a fix a developer can follow.
- Assist on retests, confirming that a fix actually closes the finding rather than hides it from the scanner.
- Keep the engagement's evidence folder and findings tracker complete and current, so the report can be assembled without a hunt.
- Learn the practice's methodology for web, API, mobile and network testing and the OWASP material it rests on.
- Stay inside the agreed scope and rules of engagement on every test, and ask before touching anything that is not clearly in them.
What we are looking for
- A degree in progress or recently completed in computer science, IT, security or a related field, or equivalent self-taught ability you can show.
- Working knowledge of HTTP, web application architecture and the OWASP Top 10, with lab or CTF work you can talk through in detail.
- Familiarity with Linux, Burp Suite or an equivalent intercepting proxy, and Nmap.
- The judgement to stop and ask when unsure, every time; a tester who guesses at scope does not stay a tester.
- You can be at the Greater Noida West office on working days.
Useful, not required
- Hack The Box, TryHackMe, PortSwigger Web Security Academy or similar progress.
- Scripting in Python or Bash.
- A CVE, a bug bounty report or a published write-up, however small.
- Any exposure to API or mobile testing beyond the web.
Intern - GRC
Compliance Greater Noida West, on-site Internship
Work inside the compliance practice on ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS and DPDP Act programmes. You map controls, gather and organise evidence, and draft the policies and registers a client's auditor will read, with a consultant reviewing everything before it leaves.
What you will do
- Map a client's existing controls to ISO 27001 Annex A, the SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria or PCI DSS requirements, and record each gap with what closing it would take.
- Collect and organise evidence against the control set, and chase what is missing before the auditor does.
- Draft policies, procedures, the Statement of Applicability and DPDP Act registers from the practice's templates, for a consultant to review.
- Support readiness assessments and internal audits: scheduling, note-taking, and writing up nonconformities a manager can understand.
- Keep the engagement tracker current, so the client always knows what is done, what is next and who owns it.
- Learn how the four products the firm builds, TrustGrid and DPDPA Autopilot in particular, are used to run a programme.
What we are looking for
- A degree in progress or recently completed, in any discipline; law, commerce, IT and management are all common routes in.
- Careful reading and plain writing: you can turn a clause of a standard into a sentence a manager understands.
- A basic understanding of what an information security management system is and why an auditor asks for evidence rather than assurance.
- Comfort with documents, spreadsheets and keeping versions of both straight.
- You can be at the Greater Noida West office on working days.
Useful, not required
- Coursework or self-study in ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, GDPR or the DPDP Act.
- Any audit, legal or compliance exposure, including academic projects or a moot.
- An ISO 27001 Foundation or similar entry-level certificate; none is required.
Why SecureRoot
Why people do this work here
The firm is built around the part of security work that usually goes missing: the follow-up. That shapes the job more than any perk would.
01
You present your own findings
The engineer who finds the flaw walks the client's developer through it. You are not handing a report to an account manager and moving to the next scan.
02
You retest what you found
A closed finding is fixed and verified, not acknowledged. The engagement ends when the retest comes back clean, and you run that retest.
03
You say the useful thing
If a finding is noise, you say it is noise. If a control is not worth the client's money, you say that too. Reports are ranked by what a weakness costs the client, not padded to look thorough.
04
You leave the team stronger
Runbooks, control sets and reasoning are handed over so the client can run the next cycle themselves. Writing that handover well is part of the job, not an afterthought.
The work
How the work is organised
SecureRoot Risk Advisory LLP delivers 37 services across six practice areas: compliance programmes (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, the DPDP Act and GDPR), vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, secure code review, software composition analysis, hardening and configuration review, and managed security. Most people sit in one practice and work across the others as engagements need.
Clients are CISOs, CTOs, engineering leaders and compliance teams at fintech, healthcare, SaaS and e-commerce companies, mostly in India. The work is client-facing from the first scoping call to the final retest, so every role involves writing clearly and explaining findings to people who did not run the test.
The firm also builds its own tools, Consent Hub, DPDPA Autopilot, TrustGrid and SecureLens, which are used on engagements. Consultants feed what they learn on client work back into those products, and product work is scoped around what the consulting actually needs.
The registered office is in Kanpur and the branch office is in Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh.
Apply
Apply
One form for every role, and for the application that fits none of them. It goes to the hiring lead with your resume attached, and it is read by a person.
What to include
- Your resume, as a PDF or Word file up to 3 MB.
- The role you are applying for, or "no specific role" and the practice area you want to work in: compliance, VAPT, secure code review, software composition analysis, hardening, managed services, or one of the products.
- In the note, one piece of work you can talk about in detail: a finding you reported, a control you designed, a review you wrote, a tool you built. A link is fine if it is public; a paragraph is fine if it is not.
- Where you are based and when you could start.
You will get a reply either way. If there is a fit, the practice lead will ask for a call; if there is not one right now, we will say so rather than leave the application unanswered.
Hiring
How hiring works
The same shape for every role, so you know what is coming before you apply.
01
Your application is read
By the hiring lead and the lead of the practice you named, not by a screening tool. If anything is unclear we ask by email before deciding anything.
02
A call about the work
A conversation with the practice lead about what you have done and what the role involves day to day. Bring questions; this is where you find out whether the job is what you think it is.
03
A practical exercise
Something close to the real work: a short assessment, a review of a sample finding, a control write-up, or a code reading, depending on the role. It is scoped to be done in a few hours, and you talk us through it afterwards.
04
A conversation about how we work
With the people you would work alongside. It covers the values on this page as they play out on an engagement, and it is as much your chance to decide as ours.
05
An offer, in writing
With the role, the team, the location and the start date stated. If we decide not to proceed at any stage we tell you, and we tell you why when we can.
Where are SecureRoot's roles based?
The firm's registered office is in Kanpur and its branch office is in Greater Noida West, Uttar Pradesh. Each open role states its own location when it is listed. Client work takes consultants to client sites when an engagement needs it.
Can I apply if there is no open role listed?
Yes. Use the application form on this page, choose "no specific role", name the practice area you want to work in, and attach your resume. It is read by the hiring lead, and you get a reply either way.
Does SecureRoot hire people early in their careers or interns?
Write to us. Internships are listed in the open roles above when they are open, and the list is the authoritative answer at any moment; whether a junior role is open depends on the practice and the engagements running at the time. A speculative application that shows real work, even a lab write-up or a project, is read the same way as any other.
What does the practical exercise involve?
Something close to the real job, scoped to a few hours: a short assessment of a target we provide, a review of a sample finding or report, a control write-up for a stated standard, or a code reading. You then talk us through what you did and why. It is not a timed test and it is not unpaid client work.
What kind of work will I actually do?
Client-facing security and compliance consulting. Depending on the practice that means penetration testing, secure code review, software composition analysis, hardening reviews, compliance programme delivery for ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS or the DPDP Act, or managed security. In every practice you present your own findings, retest what you found and write the handover the client keeps.
How do I apply, and what happens to my resume?
Use the form on this page: your name, email, the role, an optional note and your resume as a PDF or Word file up to 3 MB. The resume is stored in the firm's Google Drive and a copy reaches the hiring lead by email, and both are deleted after twelve months unless you are hired. If the form will not send, email info@secureroot.co with the same details.
Ready When You Are
Tell us what is due and who is asking. You will leave the call with a written scope, a timeline and a fixed price, and an honest answer if we are not the right firm for it.
